The Woodlands Environmental Education Center

The Woodlands Environmental Education Center, a former "4-H Camp," consists of approximately 1000 acres of hardwood forests, conifer plantations, creeks, ponds and meadows. This facility, although closed for 10 years, is now being redeveloped for both day-use and residential experiences involving a wide variety of environmental educational programs.

The Partnership

• Erie County Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry
  Maintains and manages all buildings and grounds and assists with the implementation of all resource management projects.

• Earth Spirit Educational Services, Inc.
  Develops, implements and administers environmental education programs for schools, community groups and the general public of Erie County and all of Western New York.

• SUNY at Buffalo
  Develops ongoing student internships in environmental education/resources and creates a field campus for environmental coursework and research.

Upon completion, The Woodlands Environmental Education Center will serve as Western New York’s only residential facility providing a comprehensive program with a full-time staff of professional environmental educators. With your assistance, this Environmental Center will become a reality. We thank you for your participation in this unique and exciting project.
